Excellent design, uniquely tailored products and an unmistakable French design sensibility: these are just a few of the qualities shared by iconic furniture design firm Roche Bobois and LR Paris. So naturally, when the opportunity arose to create a branded product experience for the famed atelier, we couldn’t wait to delve into the company’s history and become more familiar with the renowned brand’s identity.
What began in 1950 as an entrepreneurial partnership has since become a brand synonymous with French furniture and design. Known for pushing the boundaries of creativity and playfulness through functional furniture, iconic pieces such as Hans Hopfer’s Mah Jong sofa have led Roche Bobois to international recognition. Described as an “array of cushions that breaks the rules of formal seating and allows for endless compositions and recompositions”, the Mah Jong sofa highlights the core values of freedom of choice and creativity that continue to propel the company to innovation. In recent years, this passion for expression by way of design has led to collaborations with other industry giants, such as Missoni Home and Jean Paul Gaultier.
Although Roche Bobois celebrates the unexpected, one of its keys to success lies within the brand consistency that is found throughout all 250 showrooms worldwide. Understanding the importance of having a cohesive brand image, LR Paris was tasked to create a selection of branded objects that remain true to the DNA of Roche Bobois. Our collection of custom, Roche Bobois branded products have been designed to compliment and expand the customer experience beyond each showroom. Pulling inspiration from some of the newest and most innovative features from recent collections, such as the 3D printed fabric that covers Sacha Lakic’s Bubble seating, our products aim to connect customer with company by capturing individual attention and intrigue. This shared value of discovery continues to inspire both LR Paris and Roche Bobois with the promise of creating products that will be remembered.
